Vanessa and Michael

We had the priviledge and pleasure to cover the engagement shoot of Vanessa and Michael from the USA.

We made the pictures in Paris around the Sacré-Cœur and the Place du Tertre. The weather was cold but no rain. We were hoping for a magnificent sunset over the city but that didn’t happen. Fortunate it was not very busy with tourists. We were actually surprised it was so quiet at 8 pm. the Place du Tertre was more or less empty!

Here are s ome of the higlights ofthis evening.

  1. Nice pictures and you found a way to capture good moments even without the city lights at night.
I just missed a bit more of cropping to bring them closer to the camera. Have you used some light setup or long exposition? Great light in general!
    Congratulations, mate.

    • Thanks Marcos,

I have pictures more close up but I like these more for the blog because they show more of Paris. For about half the pictures I used an off camera flash with an umbrella.

      Cheers,

      Michiel

  2. you have perfectly covered the “interloper” angle, dus great reportage, michiel.

the “love bench” captures the mood, but maybe closer and lower.

the ring …………. whose and where?

the penultimate shot misses depth of field; the e.t. is not quite recognisable (and that was the idea?).

but, you really had photogenic amateur models!

    thanks for sharing ………..

    • Hi Bruce,

I have shots more closer for the couple. I like these more for the blog because they show more of Paris. The light was so low that I couldn’t close the aperture for mod DOF on the ET. But you are right it should have more DOF. HER ring of course, men don’t wear diamonds!

      Cheers,

      Michiel

  3. Very nice shots. specially the mood between the couples are captured perfectly. I love specially the shot that they are sitting in a bar.
