Week 01 Doel

Some friends form the photo club and myself went to the village Doel in Belgium.

This small village is almost totally abandoned.  But all the buildings are still there because a few hundred people refuse to leave. It therefore is now a photographers heaven. a l to fo the buildings can be accessed and many beautiful scenes can be captured.

All made with the Hasselblad 50 and 150 mm lenses on fuji neopan 100 and Fuji Velvia 100.

The nice little harbour. The river is called “Schelde”

  1. Nice job in B/W!

I was in Doel several years ago and met villagers who were trying to save the village.
An attempt that was not to be succesful against the powers of the Antwerp Harbour and politicians with a poor recoird for reliability.

  2. depicts the scene exactly, michiel.

for me the second shot. it says it all.

have a good image of it too, with the “bent” 30mm.!

    thanks for sharing.
